...the slightly different piano trio

One piano, 88 keys, six hands.

Our unique piano trio unites three pianists on a single grand piano. With great esprit and verve our ensemble traverses the musical literature across all boundaries.

Started several years ago like a students’ gag we have soon discovered plenty of  wonderful original music and transcriptions, many of them unknown to the public, but also faced some challenges of this unusual formation.

Our dedication to this chamber music constellation has soon resulted in the award of the first Prize at the worldwide unique 5th International Piano Competition for Piano Playing Several Hands in Marktoberdorf, Germany, as well as a scholarship from the Doms Foundation in Basel, which supported the continuation of our activities.

Since then we have given numerous concerts and tours in Germany and abroad, including performances in China, Great Britain, Austria, Greece, Switzerland, and UAE and live broadcasts by Deutschlandradio Kultur and by Bayerische Rundfunk as well as appearances on TV (German channels RBB, MDR, ARD, ZDF, and ARTE).

We are incredibly grateful to have received or comissioned original works and arrangements by contemporary composers like Manfred Schmitz, Arnold Fritzsch, Martin Böttcher, Sergei Slonimski, Jiannis Antonopoulos, Rasim Ramazanov, Dmitri Pavlov, Thomas Herrmann, Dimitri Tchesnokov and Lidia Kalendareva.

Our CDs were produced 2011, 2012 and 2014 with AMA publishing group.
